Spring, 2013 -- Wow, 2012 was an amazing year of growth for the band!  We had a surprise call from Iceland's guitar hero, Bjorn Thoroddsen, who was in town and wanted to sit in with Swing Je T'aime for an impromptu concert.  What a thrill that was!  Much of the year was also focused on setting up Joscho Stephan's US tour, during which he joined Swing Je T'aime as our featured guest for three unforgettable shows along the Front Range.  Performing with great musicians of world renown has inspired and stretched the group, and these experiences set the perfect tone as we wrapped the tracking for our new album, Postcards from Tanzania, which marked our transition into 2013 with its release this February!

Fond Farewells and New Friends -
Our much beloved violinist, Kailin Yong, has returned to his home country of Singapore and accepted a position in a university there.  We hope to enjoy many return visits from him in the coming years, so watch for those special shows!  In the meantime, we are so glad that we have his matchless sound recorded in our latest album, Postcards from Tanzania.
After a months-long search for another unique violinist to join us, we are excited to be working with a wonderful musician, violinist Gregory Walker, who will be joining us on stage at several shows this summer with his fantastic signature style which we would describe as a blend of both European folk and classical.  Gregory brings a bright energy to our shows which fits in wonderfully with our core group: Laura Gerhard and Maria Lopez, vocals; Aaron Walker, director/guitar; Jeremy Wendelin, reeds; Dr. Brian Dean, piano; Jason Malmberg, bass; Manuel Lopez, drums -- and various featured guests.

Upcoming -
Our featured international guest star in September, 2013 will be guitarist Olli Soikkeli from Finland!

"Upbeat jazz sets the stage. Classical nuances add drama. A touch of pop brings zest and spunk, while French undertones and Brazilian beat give the music an exotic flare."

"Our music is a listener-friendly blend including fresh takes on classic favorites; unburied treasures; and innovative, original songs.   We are a swing band, unconfined.  Our primary influences include legendary two-fingered trailblazer Django Reinhardt and his Hot Club of France; the genre-bending "little orchestra" from Portland, Pink Martini; and accessible polystylism. While our performances are musically satisfying to the master's- and doctorate- level professionals in our ensemble, each song is crafted with the goal of maintaining a general accessibility.  Through our exciting shows which uniquely balance musical familiarity and newness, we have achieved a rare level of multi-generational appeal.
Swing Je T'aime is exclusively for everyone!"
